GRISWOLD, Conn — State police arrested a Norwich man they have accused of leaving the scene of a deadly hit-and-run in Jewett City last year.

The passenger of the vehicle Rivard was driving told investigators they demanded to be let out after the crash, but Rivard kept driving, according to the arrest warrant. The passenger later called police to report the crash, the arrest warrant states.
Rivard was arrested a short time after the crash and was charged with evading responsibility and operating under the influence.

He was held on a $100,000 bond and was then arraigned in court.
