GRISWOLD, Conn — A truck driver died of his injuries in a rollover crash on Interstate 395 south in Griswold Thursday morning, according to Connecticut State Police.
The crash, involving a 2019 Freightliner Utility Truck, happened at 8:36 a.m. in the area of exits 28 and 24 on I-395, state police said.
Based on on preliminary information, state police said they learned that the truck was going south in the right lane of two. The lane was closed ahead of the truck due to planned construction, with traffic being diverted to the left lane.
The truck went into the right shoulder and hit a metal beam guardrail, according to state police. It then went into the right lane and back into the shoulder, hitting another section of the guardrail.
State police said the truck then rolled over to its right side and went down an embankment on the roadside, coming to a final stop on its left side.
The driver, identified as Timothy Murray, 42, of Ashby, Mass., died of their injuries from the crash, state police said.
The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad and the Traffic Services Unit Truck Squad are assisting with the investigation.

I-395 south was closed between exits 28 and 24 after the crash but has since reopened, according to state police.
