WEST HARTFORD–About two months after a woman died in a fatal head-on collision on Albany Avenue, police have announced that she had a blood alcohol content of .212.
On May 4, around 2:40 p.m., police responded to the Avon Mountain section of Albany Avenue on the West Hartford side, near the Renbrook School, for reports of a head-on crash.
It was determined that Kelly Gregory, 33, had crossed the center line and crashed into another car heading in the opposite direction.
Gregory died from her injuries. The male driver of the other car had minor injuries, but was treated and released from the hospital.
After her death, a post-mortem and toxicology were done, and the results returned that Gregory had a BAC of .212, more than twice the legal limit. She also had drugs in her system. Police say she was also driving unreasonably fast and recklessly, and the accident has been determined to have been caused by Gregory.
Both cars were totaled.
