State police looking for suspect in armed robbery at 7-Eleven in Columbia

The suspect went into the store holding a silver revolver and demanded money and cigarettes from the clerk, according to state police.

COLUMBIA, Connecticut — Connecticut State Police are looking for the suspect of an armed robbery from Sunday morning at a 7-Eleven store on 52 Route 66 in Columbia.

State police described the suspect as a "male, approximately 5'6''-5'10'' tall, thin build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, grey pants, black shoes, black face covering and dark colored gloves."

The suspect went into the store holding a silver revolver and demanded money and cigarettes from the clerk, according to state police.

The clerk gave him the money and cigarettes before he allegedly ran off on foot toward Route 66 and then possibly drove away from the scene in a "dark colored SUV."

State police are asking anyone with information to call Troop K at 860-465-5404.
