BOLTON, Conn — State police said Friday that a trooper responding to an "assist citizen" call at a home in Bolton shot a person at the home. The person shot was taken to the hospital.
The incident started with a call for assistance at a home on Meadow Road in Bolton, at 2:14 p.m.
Officials said shortly after arriving, investigators made contact with a person on the scene. A Connecticut State Trooper at the scene fired their weapon at the person, causing injury. No other persons in the surrounding area were injured.
Emergency crews responded and the injured person was taken to an area hospital. One trooper was also taken by medical personnel for evaluation.
State police said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
This is an ongoing investigation led by the Office of the Inspector General, assisted by the Rockville State’s Attorney, detectives from the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad, and Troop K, police said.
