A man in East Lyme was arrested for Disorderly Conduct after harassing town election officials and others at a polling location. The GOP registrar says that although he was a registered voter, he refused to show I.D. or sign an affidavit to vote without it. Police say he then went to the Community Center to complain where he argued with town officials. They called police.

This was an isolated incident.

Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas held a press conference five hours into Election Day. She told the media that about 37% of eligible voters have cast their ballot so far.

There have been some issues with the state's tabulators failing in some precincts. Those have been replaced.

Thomas also addressed the issue in North Stonington, where 1,100 voters were at risk of not having their ballots counted due to having no signatures on the outside of their early voting envelope. The envelopes were in place for this election's early voting due to the aging tabulators, and they did not want to risk damaging any, so they could not be used for election day. Thomas said that as of Sunday, 900 of the 1,100 ballots were fixed, but it means another 200 have not been.

Thomas said that early votes couldn't be opened and counted until today at 6 a.m. and estimates that many towns and cities have begun counting them since this morning.

6 A.M.

Polls open across Connecticut for those who did not do early voting or voted by absentee ballot.

The polls will be open until 8 p.m. If you are in line before the polls close but haven't voted yet, you are still allowed to vote. You won't be able to join the line after 8 p.m.
