STAMFORD, Conn. — The criminal trial against Michelle Troconis continued into a ninth day on Wednesday with jurors listening to testimony surrounding the properties and vehicles linked to Jennifer Dulos' disappearance nearly five years ago.
Retired Connecticut State Police Det. Matthew Reilly returned to the stand to give testimony surrounding the evidence found in the vehicles owned by Dulos' estranged husband Fotis and at properties tied to him and his construction company, Fore Group.
“We were looking for items related to the disappearance of Jennifer Dulos,” Reilly testified.
One of the places they searched was his home on Jefferson Crossing in Farmington. In the home's mudroom, investigators found a black bag with a portable hard drive and photocopies containing handwritten phone logs and timelines of two different hour-by-hour schedules for May 24, 2019, the day Jennifer disappeared.
It is not clear who the notes are and who the bag belonged to.
The phone log contained lines like “Fotis – Incoming 1:53.” Calls with Fotis and “Nicole” pop up several times on the log; Nicole is the name of Troconis’ daughter.
Another piece of paper shown to jurors depicts one of the schedules, but with additional handwriting in the margins, hole punches, and the bottom is not cut off, possibly being the original copy of the schedule, Reilly said.
Investigators also searched a home on Mountain Spring Road in Farmington and on Deer Cliff Road in Avon.
The retired detective further outlined how investigators picked apart the Ford Raptor that Fotis was seen on surveillance camera driving around the city of Hartford and throwing out what appeared to be trash on the day his wife disappeared. Field tests looking for evidence not visible to the human eye did not find any traces of possible blood, however, investigators found a hat and a pair of gloves.
They also searched the cargo area of Fotis' 2015 Chevy Suburban. In it, they found a hard plastic mat that came back positive for possible blood after field tests were done and it was seized. Reilly did not elaborate further on the results of any further tests done by investigators.
Reilly said investigators also searched the contractor and construction equipment found in Fotis' Jeep Cherokee.
Jurors only heard testimony from Reilly on Wednesday. Testimony will continue on Thursday.
On Tuesday, the jury was shown evidence collected from trash bins in Hartford in the search for Jennifer over four and a half years ago, and Jennifer's loved ones are making their voices heard.
In a statement released by her friend Carrie Luft on Tuesday evening and obtained by FOX61, Jennifer's family and friends said it was "brutal but also crucial" to show the evidence in court.
“Witnessing Jennifer’s blood-soaked clothing, knowing that was the shirt, the bra, she wore on the last day of her life, made us imagine, again, what she must have endured on May 24, 2019,” the statement said. “She died a tragic death, and her loss is felt beyond what words can express.”
They hope the trial will bring answers to and accountability for what happened to Jennifer over four and a half years ago.
"We hope that seeing this evidence in three dimensions can put an end to any suggestion that Jennifer is 'missing,'” the statement added.
Troconis is on trial after being charged with conspiracy to commit murder in connection to Jennifer's disappearance. Troconis is the one-time girlfriend of Jennifer's estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, who was charged with murder in the disappearance.
Testimony is expected to resume Thursday and the trial is expected to continue for several weeks. FOX61 is streaming the entire trial on FOX61+
Editor's note: This story has been updated to say that the 2015 Chevy Suburban was owned by Fotis Dulos.
