Jurors watch Troconis police interrogation after Jennifer Dulos disappearance | Troconis trial

Police questioned Troconis 10 days after the disappearance of Jennifer Farber Dulos.

STAMFORD, Conn — Day 10 of the criminal trial against Michelle Troconis saw jurors sitting through a nearly three-hour interrogation video on Thursday.

The video took jurors to the New Canaan Police Department nearly five years ago when Troconis was being interviewed for the first time after being charged in connection to the disappearance of Jennifer Farber Dulos

There's another video just like this where prosecutors said Troconis goes back and forth on some information, but her defense attorney said that because of police tactics and a language barrier.

Nine days after Farber Dulos went missing, investigators questioned Troconis.

"Here's a fact, Fotis killed Jennifer," said police in the interview. Troconis responds "OH NO," and grabs her head.

Troconis was facing charges of tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution.

“There was a crime scene at 69 Welles ln and we’re very concerned that she may not be missing, but she may be deceased," police told Troconis.

Detective John Kimball took the stand on Thursday. He was in the interview room with Troconis that June day alongside her lawyer.

Investigators honed in on the day Farber Dulos went missing, asking what Troconis and her then ex-boyfriend, Fotis Dulos were up to.

Troconis told police she dropped her daughter off at school, went to the store, and then had lunch with Fotis.

“He told you, Fotis called you and said we have to go to 80 Mountain Spring to clean?" asked police. Troconis responded with "Yes."

80 Mountain Spring is the Farmington property that Fotis was looking to sell through his company, Fore Group.

Troconis said on that Friday, she brought garbage bags, Clorox, and paper towels to that location.

"But now you’re saying he was actually there already?" police asked Troconis. "You can't confirm one way or the other where Fotis was?" continued police. "Yes," responded Troconis.

Troconis then continued her timeline that Friday night. Troconis spoke about a trip to Hartford where police said Fotis was seen on camera dumping garbage bags with Troconis in the passenger seat and at one point, sticking her arm out.

When police asked her why her foot was on the ground, Troconis responded, "Because I threw my gum."

In the interview, Troconis told police she thought they were going to Starbucks and she was not paying much attention.

"So he used me?" asked Troconis. "Isn't that what Fotis does?" said police.

Investigators continued to press Troconis for details. They mentioned some of the details she gave the police were not right.

"You're trying to protect him," said police in the interview. "No, I'm not trying to protect him," responded Troconis.

Jon Schoenhorn, Troconis' defense attorney, said the back and forth from Troconis was in response to the police tactics.

“She was trying to be as accurate as possible. Keep in mind, this is after being up for two days, she was arrested at 11:30 at night in her pajamas," stated Schoenhorn. “I would never have allowed a client who’s first language was not English to subject herself or himself to hours of interrogation in a second language," he argued.
