STAMFORD, Conn. — It was a day of technology in the Michelle Troconis trial, as forensic experts walked the jury through tracking GPS systems and text messages in connection to the search for missing New Canaan mom Jennifer Dulos.
Jurors were shown call logs from the phone of Fotis Dulos, Jennifer's estranged husband. Call logs and messages collected as evidence from Troconis, who is facing charges connected to Jennifer's disappearance, were suppressed, per an agreement with the judge.
Fairfield Police Det. Michael Clark dug through all of it and testified about it in court Thursday.
On the morning of May 24, 2019, until about 12:30 p.m., police believe Fotis left his phone at 4 Jefferson Crossing, his Farmington home.
"During that period of time, it remained in that area the entire time," said Clark.
At that time, police believe Fotis was headed to and from New Canaan, where police believe he killed Jennifer, before coming back home.
None of the calls or texts in that time were answered, except for one from a friend in Greece, which police allege in the arrest warrant was an alibi arranged by Fotis the day before.
In her third police interview, Troconis admitted to answering the phone for that call, saying it was brief.
Earlier Thursday, jurors heard from Mark Newth, a forensic scientist who analyzed data from Fotis' cars, including the Ford Raptor that Fotis' ex-employee, Pawel Gumienny, was driving to and from a job site in New Canaan.
Newth said there are data points for the truck being there until at least 12:30 p.m. corroborating Gumienny's testimony from earlier this week.
The night Jennifer disappeared, police believe Fotis had the Raptor in Hartford, dumping evidence along Albany Ave., with Michelle Troconis in the passenger seat.
Troconis' defense attorneys argue that all of this evidence is not new and not relevant to their client.
