UConn women drop out of top 10 in latest AP poll after loss to Notre Dame

South Carolina kept its grip on the No. 1 spot while No. 2 Kansas State matched its best ranking ever.

STORRS, Conn. — UConn women’s basketball team’s home loss to Notre Dame over the weekend hurt them in the latest AP rank poll.

The female Huskies, who had been on a steady climb up the ranks, dropped out of the top 10 on Monday, losing three spots.

The No. 11 UConn lost their second straight game against the Fighting Irish on Saturday. The two teams have met 54 times and while the Huskies lead the series 39-15, Notre Dame has won four of the last seven meetings.
