STORRS, Conn. — UConn Women's Basketball star Paige Bueckers is one of ten players still in the running for the 2024 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award.
On Tuesday, Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced the remaining candidates for the award that recognizes the top shooting guard in women's NCAA Division I college basketball.
Bueckers leads UConn with 19.8 points per game. The redshirt junior is also averaging 4.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.3 steals and 1.1 block per game. Bueckers sat out the entire 2022-23 basketball season while recovering from an ACL tear.
The Ann Meyers Drysdale Award is now in it's seventh year. The award is named after the first player, male or female, to earn a spot on an All-America Team in four straight college seasons. The winner of the 2024 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award will be announced on a date yet to be determined.
Paige Bueckers won the 2021 Nancy Lieberman Award, which honors the nation's top point guard.
Fans can vote starting Friday, January 26, on hoophallawards.com. The fan vote will be recorded as one committee vote during the finalist selection process.
