NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Claire’s Corner Copia has been a New Haven favorite since 1975.
”I love everything about it, but especially the people, The people on both sides of the counter or what drives us, They are wonderful, they are kind, they are philanthropic,” owner Claire Criscuolo told FOX61 News on Monday.
The eatery - located at 1000 Chapel St. - offers vegetarian, vegan, and kosher favorites diners love.
“I think because it’s made with really good ingredients, if you start with fresh organic ingredients, you can’t help but have a good product,” Criscuolo said.
The restaurant is "New Haven to Go!," the local effort to boost restaurant businesses across the city by promoting dining deals.
The Choupette Creperie, located at 24 Whitney Ave., is also participating.
“I don’t want to be bragging, But I see the reaction of people and it is that reaction that keeps me going they are amazed, they are happy, They tell me they have not tasted something like that in a good way,” owner Adil Chokary said about his team’s crepes.
In total, 27 restaurants are serving up a special dish for $20.21.
"It is a good opportunity to sample, I think the idea is that you have so many varieties of food, this is what New Haven is known for, one of the best small food cities in the entire country,” Colin Caplin with Taste of New Haven said.
New Haven To Go runs through Thursday, April 1.
“It is just a little fun, it is a diversion, it is a special promotion and it reminds you of all the things you love about restaurants,” Criscuolo said.
