HARTFORD, Conn. — Not sure how you want to spend your weekend? There are plenty of weekend happenings. Read below to check out events happening Friday, July 19 through Sunday, July 21. Between food, music, performing arts and other unique events, there's something for everyone!

Food 

  • Riverfront Food Truck Festival

    • When: July 18-20, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

    • What: Over 30 food trucks to try from.  

    • Admission: FREE 

    • Where: Mortensen Riverfront Plaza, 300 Columbus Blvd., Hartford CT, 06103

  • Blueberry Festival at Lyman Orchards

    • When: July 20, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    • What: All things blueberries, petting farm, yard games & live music. 

    • Admission: FREE

Music 

  • Greater Hartford Festival of Jazz
    • When: July 19-21, times varying 
      • Friday at 6 p.m. 
      • Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
      • Sunday at 10 a.m. 
    • What: Largest jazz festival in New England. 
    • Admission: FREE 
    • Where:  Bushnell Park, 439 Asylum St., Hartford CT 06103
  • Country Jamboree 

    • When: July 19, starting at 7 p.m. 

    • What: “A celebration of classic country music.” 

    • Admission: Seating prices vary, discounts for seniors, students, military and groups 

    • Where: Cheney Hall, 177 Hartford Rd., Manchester CT, 06040 

  • Windsor Summer Concerts on the Green 

    • When: Thursdays from July 11 to Aug. 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 

    • What: Different bands singing a variety of genres. 

    • Admission: FREE

    • Where: Historic Windsor Town Green, 275 Broad St., Windsor CT, 06095

  • Flogris Summer Concert Series 


Performing Arts 

  • “Lost Lodge” presented by Saybrook Stage Company 

    • When: July 19, 8 p.m. (runtime: 2 hours 40 mins, includes intermission) 

    • What: Play written and directed by CT native Terri Corigliano.

    • Admission: $19-29

  • “The Prom” presented by Playhouse Theatre Group 
    • When: July 12 to Aug. 18, times vary

    • What: “A news musical about a small-town Indiana prom.”

Fun events

  • Sunflowers for Wishes 
    • When:  July 20-28, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. 
    • What: "Visitors can make a beautiful bouquet to take home, with all proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish Connecticut." 
    • Admission: $3 for entry, $3 per flower 
    • Where: Buttonwood Farm, 473 Shetucket Turnpike, Griswold CT, 06351
  • Teddy Bear Festival presented by Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo 

    • When: July 20, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    • What: “Children’s activities and storytelling focusing on Bear Awareness and the facts about real bears.” Reminder to bring your teddy bear! 

    • Admission: Prices vary 

      • Adult (ages 12 - 61) = $20

      • Child (ages 2 -11) = $16

      • Senior (62 & older) = $16

      • Ages 0 -1 = FREE

  • Free Sim Saturday 

    • When: July 20, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    • What: New kid-friendly simulators, including a F-18 sim, Redbird full-motion flight sim, VR sim and more. 

    • Admission: Prices vary, free simulators after purchase 

      • Adult = $23 

      • Seniors = $19

      • Youth (4-14) = $13 

      • Veterans = $12 

      • Under 3 = FREE

  • Pokèmon Day

    • When: July 20, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

    • What: Scavenger hunts, trading card games, costumes and more. 

    • Admission: Adult = $29, Youth = $23

  • Christmas in July Light Walk

    • When: July 20, 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. 

    • What: Meet the equines and walk the half-mile lighted trail with family and friends.

    • Admission: Donation for the continuous care of the equines. There is no set pricing.

    • Where: Hay Burr Inn Equine Rescue and Sanctuary, 169 Black Hill Rd., Plainfield CT, 06374 

  • The Columbian Carnival

    • When: July 21, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

    • What: Colombian culture celebration with dances, live music, food, games and more. 

    • Admission: FREE

  • Pick your own Flowers

    • When: July 20-21, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

    • What: A you-pick flower garden party. 

    • Admission: FREE – options available for buckets of flowers or small arrangements prices vary. You can bring your own bucket to fill.
