HARTFORD, Conn. — Police believe that shots fired from a passing vehicle struck three people in Hartford on Friday night, but no life-threatening injuries were reported, according to a release from the Hartford Police Department.
Police said that around 8:11 p.m., they responded to the area of 131 Brook St. for a Shot Spotter notification. The acoustic gunshot detection technology can detect, locate and alert police to gunshots.
Upon arrival, officers located a man and a woman who had been shot, according to police. The man is in his 30s and the female is in her 20s. Both victims were suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and were transported to the hospital for treatment, police said.
While on scene, a local hospital informed police that a third victim, a man in his 30s, was being treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to police.
“At this time, it is believed the shots came from a passing vehicle,” the release said.
According to police, the Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crimes Scene Divisions have assumed the investigation.
