WETHERSFIELD, Conn. — Police in Wethersfield are searching for the suspect or suspects who broke into a convenience store early Saturday morning.
Police were called to the Wolcott Hill Mart on 72 Wolcott Hill Road just before 5 a.m. Saturday for a report of a break-in. The employee told police that the front window was smashed and it appeared that someone entered the building.
Responding officers found that cash, cigarettes and other items were taken from the business. After reviewing the surveillance video, police determined the break-in happened around 3:27 a.m. Saturday.
The owners told FOX61 this is the second time this year their store was broken into; the doors were smashed last time.
“We’ve been here 20 years and it’s a good neighborhood but this is just sad,” the owners told FOX61.
Police are investigating the burglary and ask anyone with information to call Detective Robert Malinowski at 860-721-2966.
