BROOKLYN, Conn. — A family in Brooklyn has asked for help from police to find who damaged and stole their mother’s gravestone.
In a Facebook post from Connecticut State Police Troop D Danielson on Tuesday, it says the gravestone was vandalized several times and the base was snapped where the stone sits. Photos and descriptions of the crimes were also posted.
The most recent crime happened in late June when an individual(s) removed the stone from South Cemetery on Canterbury Road.
“The family is offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest for the suspects who committed this terrible crime,” according to the Facebook post.
Any information should be reported to the Brooklyn Resident Trooper's Office:

The 'twilight red' gravestone has “Benard” spelled out in big letters at the top. Below it, it reads “beloved mother” with the birth date, Aug. 3, 1936, and death date, May 26, 2020. Her deceased son’s name, Michael, is also on the grave.
