Arrest made in May homicide in Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn — Hartford police have a arrested a suspect in the death of a man who was found in a Wethersfield apartment in May.  

According to police, Rene Almadovar, 47, of Hartford was charged with Murder, Threatening 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Firearm. He was being held on a $3 million bond. He was arrested Saturday. 

Officers responded to an apartment on the 100 block of Wethersfield Avenue just before on May 24, where responders found a man with "trauma-related injuries." The man was identified by police as Andrew Gunn, 57, was pronounced dead in the apartment.

The injury Gunn suffered was a gunshot wound, according to police.

The Chief Medical Examiner's Office is working to determine the cause and time of Gunn's death.
