BERLIN, Conn. — A one-year-old died in a multi-car accident on the Berlin Turnpike Saturday afternoon, according to police and fire officials.
The Berlin police and fire departments were called to the multi-vehicle crash on the turnpike around 3 p.m.
When first responders got to the scene, they found one vehicle rolled over, and several people were thrown from the vehicle, police said. According to officials, first responders treated four adults and four children for multiple injuries before taking them to local hospitals.
Unfortunately, the one-year-old was pronounced dead at the CT Children's Medical Center.
Route 5 has since reopened.
Berlin Police and Midstate Accident Reconstruction are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
