Police: Man fatally shot in Waterbury

A man was shot and killed on Walnut Street in Waterbury early Sunday morning.

WATERBURY, Conn. — According to police, the Waterbury Police Department responded to a call about shots fired around midnight near 358 Walnut Street.

Upon arrival, officers said they found Julaquis Minnifield, 43, of Waterbury, who had been shot. He was taken to Waterbury Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

The Waterbury Police Department’s Major Crime detectives are currently investigating. If anyone has any information, they are advised to call the Detective Bureau at (203) 574-6941 or the anonymous Crime Stoppers tip line at (203) 755-1234.
