BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A fatal shooting is under investigation in Bridgeport Wednesday evening, according to the city's police department.
At 5:45 p.m., officers went to Spring Street for a report of a person shot and found a male victim lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds, according to police.
A medical crew brought him to a local hospital where he died "a short time later," police said. He has not been identified at this time.
The Detective Bureau Homicide Squad was called to the scene along with the Forensic Identification Unit, police said. Investigators are currently identifying potential witnesses.
Spring Street is closed between East Main Street and Kossuth Street during the investigation.
