DANBURY, Conn. — A Danbury firefighter was released from the hospital after a warehouse fire early Sunday, according to the city's fire department.
The Danbury Fire Department said that firefighters were at the scene of an accident at 12:15 a.m. when they saw smoke coming from a warehouse on Kenosia Avenue.
Fire crews determined that there was a working fire inside the warehouse and upgraded the response to fourth alarm, calling in assistance from towns including Brookfield, Monroe, Newtown, Wilton, Ridgefield, New Milford, Sandy Hook, Brewster, New Fairfield, Stevenson, Dodgingtown and Putnam Lake, the DFD said.
While crews determined that no one was inside the warehouse at the time of the fire, a Danbury firefighter had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital, the DFD said, noting that they were later released.
According to the DFD, the town's emergency management was at the scene for relief efforts, along with support from the Salvation Army, Modzelewski's Recovery & Repair Inc., and HARTransit.
