The Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, is set to close Wilton's Disaster Recovery Center, or DRC, as the Southbury location remains open, according to Gov. Ned Lamont Monday.

Wilton's DRC, located at Our Lady of Fatima Church at 229 Danbury Road, is permanently closing by the close of business Monday.

Southbury's DRC, located at the Southbury Town Hall at 501 Main Street South, remains open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

FEMA announced the opening of the centers earlier this month to provide in-person assistance to residents impacted by severe flooding that devastated parts of the state on Aug. 18. Lamont said that the centers help individuals including "homeowners, renters, businesses and private nonprofits" apply for federal disaster aid for damages from the storm.

Individuals in Fairfield County, Litchfield County or New Haven County looking to apply for FEMA assistance due to damage from the August storm can do so at the Southbury location.

The deadline to apply for federal disaster assistance due to damage from the storm is Nov. 19, Lamont said.

Two small business recovery centers in Connecticut, operated by the U.S. Small Business Administration, are also available for businesses and homeowners looking for similar assistance.

The SBA Business Recovery Centers are located at the Monroe Police Department at 7 Fan Hill Road in Monroe and the Oxford Town Hall at 486 Oxford Road. Both are open Mondays to Fridays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are closed Sundays.
