BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — An officer was injured after their cruiser was hit by a stolen vehicle in Bridgeport on Sunday, according to the city's police department.
Bridgeport's Emergency Communications Center received a call at 1:50 p.m. about a stolen vehicle in the area of Frank Street and Madison Avenue, police said.
A K9 officer spotted the vehicle before it struck their cruiser and then took off from the scene onto Route 8 north. The officer was left with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said they called off a pursuit by exit 12 on the highway.
At 3 p.m., the Derby Police Department apprehended the suspect and the vehicle, according to police.
