Serious scooter, bike crash in Bridgeport: Police

The 33-year-old woman driving the scooter and the 20-year-old man riding the bike were both taken to Bridgeport Hospital.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Bridgeport police are investigating a serious crash involving a motor scooter and a bicycle late Thursday evening.

Police were called to the East Main and Jane Streets intersection at 10:23 p.m. for a report of the crash and of one of the people involved being unresponsive.

Arriving responders found firefighters providing medical help to the scooter and bike operators, who both appeared to be seriously injured, according to police. One of them was unresponsive, police said.

The 33-year-old woman driving the scooter and the 20-year-old man riding the bike were both taken to Bridgeport Hospital. The man is listed in critical condition, police said.

There was a passenger on the scooter with the driver, but police said they didn't find the passenger on the scene.

The crash is under investigation. Anyone with information on this crash is asked to call Officer Eroildo Quiles at 475-422-6141 or call the Bridgeport Police Tips Hotline at 203-576-TIPS (8477).
