BROOKFIELD, Conn. — The Brookfield Volunteer Fire Comp. responded to a report of a vehicle in a pool in Friday evening, according to a post on its Facebook page.
Around 7:22 p.m., fire companies fielded the call, according to the post. When first responders arrived on scene, everyone was out of the truck; no injuries were reported, the fire company said.
While employees from Modzelewski’s Towing and Recovery Inc. worked to recover the truck, Rescue 3, Candlewood Engine 21 and Paramedic Ambulance 18-3 stood by, according to the Facebook post.
Life vests were donned during the rigging phase, as members of the towing crew got into the water to rig the rear of the truck for lifting. Once the truck was rigged, the fire company said it provided lighting, maintained a secure perimeter and stood by with a hose line.
According to the fire company, no fluid leaked from the vehicle, and crews were back in service by 11:30 p.m. The Brookfield Police Department is currently investigating the crash and how the truck got into the pool.
The fire company noted that while first responders were at the scene of the truck crash, additional crews handed two fire alarms, an in-town medical call and a mutual aid ambulance request to Danbury.
