SOUTHINGTON, Connecticut — A Torrington man is facing a murder charge after police found a man dead in Southington last April.
Southington police said 25-year-old Brian Seholm was arrested Thursday in connection with the investigation.
On April 11, 2023, Southington officers were called to a home on Douglas Street near W. Center Street after they got a call reporting a man was unresponsive.
When police got to the house, they found the man, later identified as Dominick Francischelli. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical crews.
Detectives began investigating Francischelli's death and executed multiple search warrants during the investigation. According to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Francischelli's cause of death was neck compression and was determined to be a homicide.
An arrest warrant was eventually issued for Seholm, charging him with the murder of Francischelli. Police said Seholm was an "associate" of Francischelli and was with him the evening of Francischelli's death.
Seholm was taken into custody in Torrington and will be processed for the murder charge at the Southington Police Department.
Seholm is held on a $2 million court-set bond and is expected at New Britain Superior Court on Friday.
