BERLIN, Conn. — A stabbing occurred on Sage Drive Saturday morning, according to the Berlin Police Department.
Police said that around 10 a.m. they responded to a report of a serious assault. Upon arrival, they found a victim with a stab wound to the face and neck area. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
The suspect, 39-year-old Keith Benoit, was still on scene and taken into custody without incident, according to police. The victim is reported to be in stable condition currently.
The Berlin Investigations Bureau made its way to Sage Drive to assist with the investigation, which is also being aided by the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Unit in processing the scene.
Benoit was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and is being held on $150,000 bond, police said. Benoit is scheduled to appear in New Britain Court on Monday.
