EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — A child died after being bitten multiple times by a dog in East Hartford Wednesday, the town's police department said.
Officers said they arrived at a residence on Fuller Avenue just after 3 p.m. where they found the one-year-old child who was injured from several dog bites.
Members of the police and fire department, along with a medical crew that took the child to the hospital, performed measures in an attempt to save the one-year-old's life.
The child later died from their injuries. Police said their name is not being released "out of respect for the family's privacy and in consideration of the sensitivity of the matter."
Two dogs were removed from the house where the incident happened, according to police. The incident remains under investigation.
