GLASTONBURY, Conn — A Manchester woman died in a Glastonbury crash involving a dump truck on May 24, the town's police department said Wednesday.
Police identified the woman as Christine Sawamura, 56, of Manchester.
Town emergency crews, including the fire department, EMS and Ambulance Service of Manchester, went to Keeney Street between Old Reservoir and Woodfield Crossing at 10:36 a.m. on May 24 after receiving a report of a head-on crash.
Based on preliminary information, police said they determined that a sedan was headed north on Keeney Street when it crossed the centerline and hit a dump truck. The cause of the crash is unknown.
Police said the sedan driver, Sawamura, died of her injuries at the scene.
The dump truck driver was not injured.
The Connecticut State Police Traffic Unit, as well as the Glastonbury Police Traffic Unit were called to process the scene.
