32 arrests made in Hartford this week as money, drugs and guns seized: Police

With help from multiple agencies, the Hartford Police Narcotics Unit targeted areas that were under investigation for narcotic and quality of life issues.

HARTFORD, Conn. — Hartford police report that citywide operations led to 32 arrests this week. 

After receiving citizen complaints of narcotic and quality of life issues, the Hartford Police Narcotics Unit spent the past week serving multiple warrants, seizing money and taking a considerable amount of drugs off the streets, according to a release Friday from the police department.

For several weeks, detectives conducted surveillance and developed probable cause for search warrants, the release said.

Throughout the past week, the Hartford Police Narcotics Unit was assisted by law enforcement partners including the FBI Task Force, DEA Task Force, Connecticut State Police, FBI Human Trafficking Unit, Hartford Police Street Crimes Unit, C4 Crime Center and the Hartford Police Violence Crimes Unit, police said.

As a result of the collaborative efforts, in addition to the 32 arrests that were made,  11 search warrants were served, 14 arrest warrants were served and $23,240 was seized, according to the release. 

Police also said 24 firearms were seized, including multiple rifles and Ghost rifles. A significant amount of narcotics were seized as well. According to the release, 156 grams of fentanyl, 2,875 bags of fentanyl, 500 fentanyl pills, 11 grams of cocaine, 188 grams of crack-cocaine, 16 grams of MDMA, 14 pounds of marijuana and 166 OxyContin pills were taken by police.
