HARTFORD, Conn. — Early Sunday morning, a fatal hit-and-run claimed the life of a 27-year-old East Hartford man.
Around 12 a.m., Hartford police responded to 605 Albany Avenue for reports of a collision involving a car and a bicyclist.
Upon arrival, police said they discovered Vann Rosevelt Jr., 27, of East Hartford, lying in the roadway with severe injuries.
Rosevelt was taken to Saint Francis Hospital and later was pronounced dead at 2:25 a.m.
Witnesses reported that a black Infinity sedan hit Rosevelt before fleeing eastbound on Albany Avenue and turning southbound on Garden Street.
At this time the driver remains unidentified while the detectives from the Crime Scene Division continue their investigation.
