HARTFORD, Conn. — A man is dead after a shooting in Hartford early Sunday morning, according to the city's police department.
Police said they arrived at 67 Fishfry Street at 1:11 a.m. after receiving a report about a person who was shot.
A man, later identified as Antwan Googe, 36 of Hartford, was found with multiple gunshot wounds, according to police. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions is leading the investigation. According to Hartford Police Lt. Boisvert, the incident involved a large gathering of people and appears to be related to a dispute between two individuals.
Anyone who witnessed the shooting can contact the Hartford Police Department tip line at 860-722-TIPS. Calls can be made anonymously.
There are currently no suspects, Boisvert said.
The homicide follows a fatal shooting on Burton Street reported at 11:28 p.m. on Saturday. Boisvert said there is no evidence to suggest that the two incidents are related at this time.
The fatal shooting marks the city's 13th homicide of the year.
