Man held on $1M bond after road rage incident involving gunshot: Enfield police

ENFIELD, Conn. — A man was arrested after a road rage incident involving a gunshot in Enfield Wednesday, the town's police department said.

Peter Smario III, 44, of Enfield, is facing charges of criminal attempt to commit assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm, violation of a restraining order on two counts, possession of a firearm without a permit, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal mischief, threatening and weapons in a motor vehicle, according to police.

Officers received a call at 11:54 p.m. on Wednesday about a road rage incident involving a shot being fired in the area of Freshwater Boulevard, police said. 

No injuries were reported.

Smario was eventually located and arrested on Ganny Terrace after a "high risk motor vehicle stop, police said. He is being held on a $1,000,000 bond and is expected to appear at Hartford Superior Court Friday morning.
