Pedestrian hit by car Monday evening in Newington is seriously injured: Police

The crash occurred around Richard Street and Willard Avenue at about 9:30 p.m.

NEWINGTON, Conn. — A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Monday evening in the vicinity of Richard Street and Willard Avenue, according to a press release from the Newington Police Department.

Newington police responded to the scene around 9:30 p.m. for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian, police said.

The pedestrian is believed to have serious injuries, according to police. The individual was taken to a local hospital to be treated.

Police said the driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and cooperated with law enforcement.

According to the release, anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information pertaining to it is asked to call Officer Cappiello at 860-666-8445 ext. 6317 or email ccappiello@newingtonct.gov.
