An 8-year-old child was struck by a car in Meriden Tuesday morning

The incident happened on Hall Avenue at approximately 8:52 a.m. The child had no obvious injuries but was taken to the hospital.

MERIDEN, Conn. — A child was struck by a car on Tuesday morning, according to a release from the Meriden Police Department.

Meriden police said they received calls of a car versus pedestrian crash on Hall Avenue at approximately 8:52 a.m. and responded to the scene.

Police said that when they arrived, they located a child who was approximately eight years old; the child had no obvious signs of injury but did complain of pain, police said, adding that the driver of the vehicle remained on scene.

Police said the child was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, and the case is still under investigation. Any tips or information can be emailed to Officer Murray at emurray@meridenct.gov.
