SOUTHINGTON, Conn. — Three people were arrested after an argument escalated into multiple bouncers at a Southington restaurant being stabbed, the town's police department said.
Southington officers, alongside Plainville and Cheshire police, arrived at the 75 Center restaurant on Center Street at 1:30 a.m. for a report of a fight and stabbing.
According to police, employees at the restaurant tried to break up an argument involving 28-year-old Adrian Montes of Springfield, Massachusetts, 32-year-old Stuart Chase of Leeds, Massachusetts and another man who was unidentified.
As Montes and Chase began to be escorted out of the restaurant by employees, the two continued to be argumentative and Stuart punched one of the bouncers in the face, leading to a fight, police said.
24-year-old Heidi Montes of Wallingford, sister of Adrian Montes and associate of Chase, became involved in the fight after pulling out a keychain attached to a pepper spray and a shank weapon in the shape of a wand, according to police.
After threatening the employees, Heidi Montes used her pepper spray on one of the bouncers and then stabbed him on the left side of his face, police said. She then began stabbing a second bouncer multiple times in the head and neck, resulting in serious injuries.
Three bouncers in total were injured during the fight, according to police. Two were taken to the hospital and are now reported to be in "good condition," avoiding "potentially life-threatening injuries," police said.
Heidi Montes was arrested on a $250,000 bond and is facing charges of assault in the second degree, interfering/resisting arrest, breach of peace in the second degree, and assault in the third degree. She is currently expected to appear at New Britain Superior Court on Monday.
Adrian Montes and Chase were arrested on $25,000 bonds and facing charges of interfering/resisting arrest and breach of peace in the second degree. Chase remains in police custody and is expected to appear in New Britain Superior Court Monday, while Adrian was released on a "Promise to Appear" by the bail commissioner, police said.
Police said that surveillance video and accounts from multiple witnesses were obtained, and are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Apicella at 860-378-1647.
