SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. — Police are bringing attention to an armed robbery that happened at a 7-Eleven in South Windsor this week, according to police.
The armed robbery happened around 8 a.m. Monday, and police are bringing awareness to the robbery and are providing safety tips to store owners and the public.
The three suspects arrived in a stolen vehicle; the driver backed the vehicle up to the front of the store and stayed in the car, police said. The other two then went inside the store.
One suspect pointed a pistol at the clerk while the other jumped over the counter and stole the cash register, according to police.
Police have not announced any arrests, but the stolen vehicle has since been recovered, police said.
Police handed out flyers to local businesses regarding this incident to help store employees and the public recognize signs of a robbery in progress.
Police ask those who see vehicles being backed up to the front of the store door and/or people dressed in full hoods and masks to call 911. Police also advise against fighting with the suspects; it's safer to give them what they are demanding.
Those with questions or have information on similar incidents can call South Windsor Police Cpl. Chris Poehnert at 860-648-6231.
