WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — A woman in her 80s was hit and killed by a vehicle in West Hartford on Friday evening, according to police.
Police were called to the area of Oakwood Avenue and Saint James Street just after 5 p.m. for a report of a crash.
Arriving officers found a pedestrian with serious injuries and a vehicle that was involved in a collision.
The pedestrian, identified Saturday as Patricia Brulotte, 87, of West Hartford, was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died.
The driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The driver did not report any injuries, police said.
Oakwood Avenue was closed between Seymour Avenue and Kane Street for several hours as investigators processed the scene. The area has since reopened to traffic.
This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the West Hartford Police Dept. at (860) 523-5203.
