WEST HAVEN, Conn. — A patron at the Muzeum Bar and Grill in West Haven was fatally stabbed early Saturday morning, according to the West Haven Police Department.
Later that day, 49-year-old West Haven resident Omoyeni Frank was arrested by West Haven police and charged with murder. He is currently being held on a $2 million bond and will appear in Milford Superior Court on Tuesday.
West Haven police report that officers were called to the bar and grill on the 600 block of Campbell Avenue around 2:05 a.m. for a reported stabbing.
After what West Haven police described as a “lengthy and aggressive investigation,” Frank was identified as a suspect. He reportedly got into an altercation with the owner of the bar and grill and stabbed the owner in the chest.
Following the stabbing, West Haven police said that Frank left the scene and drove home. His vehicle was parked in the driveway as police arrived at his house later Saturday.
West Haven SRT was activated to execute a search and seizure warrant for Frank’s residence. Frank wasn’t home at the time, but the SRT team was still there when he arrived.
West Haven police said Frank surrendered, and the SRT team took him into custody without incident.
Frank was taken to the West Haven Police Department, where he was charged.
