WETHERSFIELD, Conn. — A suspicious death was reported at the Motel 6 on Silas Deane Highway early Saturday morning, according to a release from Wethersfield police.
Police said that around 5:53 a.m., they received a 911 call from someone at the motel who told them that there was a dead body found in Room 168.
After arriving on scene, Wethersfield police confirmed there was a dead body in the room and called upon the police department’s Detective Division to assume the investigation, according to the release.
Due to “suspicious circumstances,” Wethersfield police said they also requested the assistance of the Connecticut State Police Central District Major Crime Squad to aid in the investigation. The crime squad is under the direction of the New Britain State’s Attorney Office, GA15.
Police said that this is an isolated incident and there is no current threat to the community. The identification of the dead individual was not available at the time of the release, as the department said it was waiting to notify the next of kin.
The investigation is active, and updates will be released as Wethersfield police gather more information.
