KENT, Connecticut — Multiple roads were closed after severe weather passed through Kent Sunday afternoon, leading to a downed tree and wires, the town's volunteer fire department said.
According to the Kent Volunteer Fire Department, they responded to "multiple incidents" in the afternoon as a result of the weather.
Skiff Mountain Road is currently closed just north of River Road due to downed wires and a tree at the intersection of Fuller Mountain Road.
At 9:10 p.m., the KVFD said that Carter Road was reopened after wires were blocking drivers from accessing the road.
The KVFD said that a tree also came down and was "completely blocking" Route 7 just north of Botsford Road. That closure was eventually cleared after the tree was cut "within minutes" by a chainsaw.
