NEW HARTFORD, Connecticut — A 19-year-old from Simsbury is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle and car in New Hartford, state police said.
The crash happened Sunday afternoon just before 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 202 and 219.
State police were called to the scene on the report of a serious crash involving a Kawasaki Zx1000-e and a Chrysler 300 Touring. When police and first responders got to the crash, they found Ausencio Vidriesca severely injured, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to officials, the Chrysler was driving east on Route 202 and about to turn left onto Route 219 when Vidriesca reportedly collided with the back of the vehicle.
Police said the driver and passenger of the Chrysler didn't report any injuries, but the driver was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
The crash remains under investigation.
