PLYMOUTH, Conn. — A woman died at the scene of a four-vehicle crash involving a DOT truck in Plymouth, Conn. Tuesday evening, according to the town's police department.
Police said the road closed due to the crash has been reopened as of 10:22 p.m.
Officers went to the intersection of Poland Brook Road (Route 72) and Bemis Street at 3:31 p.m. after receiving a report of a serious crash, according to police.
Arriving officers found three cars and a DOT truck involved in a crash, police said.
A woman in one of the vehicles had serious injuries and died at the scene. Police said they are not providing her identity at this time.
The Naugatuck Valley Collision Investigation Team and Connecticut State Police Truck Squad are assisting with the investigation. Police also credited the Terryville Fire Department and the Plymouth Volunteer Ambulance Corp. for their assistance.
