1 dead after Deep River house fire: State police

Fire and Explosion Unit detectives assisted with the investigation, according to Connecticut State Police.

DEEP RIVER, Conn. — One person is dead after a house fire in Deep River Saturday, according to Connecticut State Police Sunday.

State police said troopers from Troop F went to West Bridge Lane at 6:15 p.m. Saturday for a report of a residential structure fire.

Essex Fire Engine Co. #1 posted on Facebook that they responded to the fire along with other stations for mutual aid, including from Chester and Old Saybrook, to assist the Deep River Fire Department.
