BRANFORD, Conn. — One man was killed in an early morning crash near the Branford rest area on Interstate 95 northbound, said police.
Connecticut State Police said they were called to the area at 3:14 a.m. for reports of a collision between a car and a tractor trailer that had been parked on the shoulder of the road just beyond the Branford Rest Stop.
Josiah Steinman, 24, was seriously injured when the Nissan Sentra he was driving crashed into the truck. He was taken to Yale New Haven hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
