BRANFORD, Conn. — The USS Chowder Pot III's voyage has come to an end. The Chowder Pot of Branford abruptly closed its doors Monday, according to a social media post from the restaurant.
The owner thanked customers for the years of "love and support" and that the closing brings "a heavy heart."
"I want to say thank you for all the love and support you have shown myself and Chowder Pot lll throughout the years," the Facebook post said. "I could not have done it without all of you, my staff and my family."
Patrons shared their thoughts and thanked the Chowder Pot for years of "great food and great times."
"Glad I had my final dinner last night (which was amazing BTW). Best of luck to everyone going forward," one user said.
"So sorry to hear this. We had so many fantastic dinners and great memories at the USS Chowder Pot III," another said.
A reason for the closure was not provided. Facebook posts from last week included an entertainment schedule for March.
FOX61 has reached out to the Chowder Pot III for comment.
The Hartford location, the USS Chowder Pot IV, closed in March 2023.
