New Haven police identify man killed in fatal hit and run

The driver who ran a red light fled the scene, police said.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — New Haven police have identified the man who died in the  hit-and-run crash in the city Wednesday morning.

Nader Elias Hanania, 63, was pronounced dead at Yale New Haven Hospital. 

South Frontage Road and M.L.K. Jr. Blvd. near York Street and College Street were temporarily closed due to the crash. The roadways have since reopened, police said.

A Toyota Supra  went through a red light and hit a blue Hyundai according to police.

The Toyota driver ran off from the scene, and now police are searching for that person.
