NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A New Haven man was arrested and charged with making three bomb threats on Thursday morning.
Tyrell Walton, 32, of New Haven, was charged with threatening, and breach of peace. He's being held on $500,000 bond.
Police said around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, bomb threats were called into the New Haven Police dispatch center by an unknown person for the police headquarters building, the federal courthouse, and the federal building. The location of the alleged device was unknown.
People were evacuated from all three buildings. Sweeps of the areas failed to turn up anything suspicious.
Walton was identified as a suspect and police took him into custody.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit, the Joint Terrorism and Federal Protective Services will continue to investigate the incident.
