Hamden man in critical condition after being hit by vehicle in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — New Haven police are investigating a crash that left a pedestrian in critical condition early Tuesday.

At 12:22 a.m., police went to the area of Forbes Avenue and Woodward Avenue on a report of a vehicle that hit a pedestrian. 

Arriving officers found the pedestrian, a 37-year-old Hamden man, who had "significant injuries" from the crash. American Medical Response brought him to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was last listed in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, according to police.

Police said their Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the crash. They are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has information to call detectives at 203-946-6304 or the department's anonymous tip line at 866-888-TIPS (8477).
