One dead after two person shooting in New Haven

New Haven Police responded to a gunshot victim between Truman Street and Washington Ave. Another victim was found in the hospital.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — One person is dead after a two-person shooting in New Haven late Friday night, according to police.

Around 11:23 p.m. New Haven Police responded to a report of a gunshot victim on Clover Place, between Truman Street and Washington Ave.

An ambulance took a 47-year-old New Haven man to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he later died, police said. Police have not released the name of the victim. 

A second victim, a 20-year-old New Haven man, walked into the emergency room a short time later with a gunshot wound to his foot. The second victim told police he was also shot on Clover Place, according to police.
